About
Fletcher Hills Systems. A studio of one.
Fletcher Hills Systems is a full-stack engineering studio based in San Diego, CA, led by Jonathan 'Tyson' Nevels. The studio ships modern web apps, AI integrations, marketing sites, and platform infrastructure for founders, operators, and teams who need real software, not slideware.
The business is intentionally small. One operator, tight scopes, aggressive timelines, and a codebase that doesn't become a liability three months after launch. If that sounds boring and professional — it's supposed to.
Current engagements span plein-air watercolor representation, regional-center healthcare SEO, music-industry A&R SaaS, and indie-game infrastructure. The pattern: small teams, meaningful product, nothing half-built.
How we operate
Four principles that hold across every engagement, every client, every week.
Scoped, priced, dated.
Every engagement starts with a written scope, a fixed price, and a real delivery date. No vague hourly bills. No mystery invoices.
Production-grade from day one.
TypeScript end-to-end, typed schemas, CI/CD, monitoring, tests where they matter. When you inherit the codebase, it's acquisition-ready.
Founder-direct.
You talk to the engineer shipping the code. No account managers, no layers — just fast answers and weekly shipping demos.
You own everything.
Code in your GitHub org. Deploys on your hosting. Data in your database. No lock-in, no walled garden. Ever.
The stack

The journey
Fletcher Hills Systems · active book
Running four concurrent engagements: Tony Trowbridge (watercolor representation, live), Tevita Care SD (healthcare retainer, live), a music A&R SaaS platform (14-day buyer demo, building), and Sloat Dixon's indie-game build (scoping). Full-stack delivery, founder-direct, fixed-scope.
Founded Fletcher Hills Systems
Spun up Fletcher Hills Systems as a productized engineering studio: fixed packages, written scopes, dated timelines, and a no-nonsense commercial contract. Moved from one-off freelance gigs to repeatable, acquisition-ready client builds.
AI-native engineering at scale
Built agent-driven internal tooling, RAG pipelines, and voice + LLM integrations across Claude, OpenAI, and Gemini. Learned — the hard way — what it takes to ship AI features that don't embarrass you in production.
Full-stack engineer in production
Shipped Next.js, Supabase, Firebase, and Stripe systems serving real users. Deep reps on auth, RLS, realtime, webhooks, payments, and the entire operational surface area of a SaaS product.
Self-taught, obsessively
Started building things on the web because I couldn't stop. Open source, side projects, broken databases at 2am — the usual. Turned that curiosity into a production engineering practice.

Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute call. You leave with a scope, a timeline, and a fixed quote — even if we don't end up working together.
